Charities
Trees for Cities was established as an independent charity in 1993 “to advance the education of the public in the appreciation of trees and their amenity value; and in the furtherance of this, the protection and planting of trees particularly in inner city areas” and we are now in our fourteenth year of working with urban communities to develop and implement greening schemes in some of the most deprived estates, schools, streets and other public spaces in London and beyond.
Heart disease touches us all. Every year, thousands die prematurely, and those who survive can find life difficult and frightening. The British Heart Foundation is the nation’s heart charity, dedicated to saving lives every day by investing in pioneering research, supporting and caring for heart patients and their families, campaigning for change and providing vital information to help people care for their own heart health. But we urgently need your help. We rely on your donations of time and money to continue our life-saving work. Together we can beat heart disease, for those living today, and tomorrow.

Imagine; trapped within the confines of your home. No sight to view the outside world from your window. In many cases, visual impairment means a person doesn't have the confidence to step out of their front door to socialise or go to work. It's a world of isolation, loneliness and despair.
Thanks to Guide Dogs, there's a new hope. The relationship between a guide dog and its owner begins very tentatively - learning to trust the dog, to sense its directional movement and how to give it instructions. All this takes time but gradually a bond develops and an extraordinary partnership is formed.
Only through the care and dedication of the charity's training teams do these loyal dogs mature to become such faithful companions, and their owners re-discover independence and confidence to socialise or get a job.
